- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in another bowl until smooth and fluffy.
- Add eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and lemon juice to the creamed mixture and beat until combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
- Scoop large balls of dough (about 3 tablespoons each) and place on baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 20-23 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Substitute walnuts with pecans or omit for a nut-free version.
