Description

A classic, creamy, and sweet vanilla buttercream frosting perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Easy to make and great for piping or spreading.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter on medium speed until creamy and smooth, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add confectioners’ sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
  3. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  4. Increase the speed to medium and beat for 2–3 more minutes until fluffy.
  5. Add milk or heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Use immediately or store for later use.

  • Add food coloring for themed decorations.
  • Mix in cocoa powder for a chocolate version.
  • Try almond, lemon, or peppermint extract for a flavor twist.
