Description

Soft chocolate cookies rolled in pecans, filled with gooey caramel, and drizzled with chocolate. These indulgent cookies combine all the classic Turtle candy flavors in every bite!


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2024 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Scoop dough and roll into balls, then roll each ball in chopped pecans to coat. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indent in the center of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
  9. Meanwhile, melt the caramels with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Spoon a little caramel into the center of each cookie.
  10. If desired, melt the chocolate chips and drizzle over the cookies. Let set before serving.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate chips for an even richer chocolate drizzle.
  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt for an extra sweet-salty flavor.
  • Swap the pecans for chopped walnuts if you prefer.
  • Add a chocolate kiss instead of caramel for a fun twist.
