A healthier twist on the classic comfort food, this Turkey Meatloaf is tender, flavorful, and topped with a tangy glaze—perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey (preferably 93% lean)
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs (preferably whole wheat)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté chopped onion and garlic until softened. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, bread crumbs, sautéed onion and garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape it gently.
- In a small bowl, mix ketchup, tomato paste, and Dijon mustard. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use ground chicken or a beef-turkey blend for a different flavor profile.
- Add finely chopped vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for extra nutrition.
- Top with shredded cheese in the last 10 minutes for a cheesy crust.
- Use barbecue sauce instead of ketchup for a smokier flavor.
