A full-course Thanksgiving feast featuring roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie—perfect for a festive and hearty holiday celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole turkey (size based on guests)
  • Butter (for turkey and mashed potatoes)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
  • Garlic cloves
  • Onions
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Chicken or turkey stock
  • Bread cubes for stuffing
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Potatoes
  • Heavy cream
  • Green beans
  • Canned mushroom soup
  • Fried onions
  • Fresh cranberries
  • Orange juice
  • Sugar
  • Pumpkin pie filling
  • Prepared pie crusts
  • Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Remove giblets from the turkey and pat dry.
  2. Rub the turkey with a blend of butter, olive oil, herbs, salt, and pepper. Stuff cavity with onion, garlic, herbs, and citrus if desired.
  3. Roast turkey, basting every 30–45 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Prepare stuffing by sautéing onions and celery, then mixing with bread cubes, herbs, broth, and beaten eggs. Bake separately or inside turkey.
  5. Boil peeled potatoes until soft. Mash with butter, cream, salt, and pepper.
  6. Blanch green beans. Combine with mushroom soup, top with fried onions, and bake until bubbly.
  7. Simmer cranberries with orange juice and sugar until they burst and sauce thickens.
  8. Pour pumpkin pie filling into crusts, season with spices, and bake until set.

Notes

  • Use cornbread for Southern-style stuffing.
  • Add bacon or cheese to mashed potatoes for extra flavor.
  • Consider a maple glaze for a sweeter turkey.
  • Swap pumpkin pie with pecan or apple pie for variety.
  • Vegetarian options include lentil loaf or squash soup.
