Description

A delicious fusion of Mexican and Italian cuisine, Taco Pizza combines the flavors of a classic taco with the format of a pizza, topped with seasoned beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and crunchy tortilla chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-baked pizza crust
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/4 cup diced red onions (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed tortilla chips
  • Sour cream (for topping)
  • Salsa (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Spread refried beans evenly over the pre-baked pizza crust.
  5. Top with seasoned beef, then sprinkle with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  6. Bake in the oven for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.
  8. Top with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, olives, red onions, and crushed tortilla chips.
  9. Drizzle with sour cream and salsa if desired.
  10. Slice and serve immediately.
