Description

This Sweet & Savory Caramelized Pulled Beef Brisket is slow-cooked to perfection, offering a melt-in-your-mouth texture with a rich blend of sweet caramelized onions and savory spices. Perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or served with your favorite sides.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 34 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium heat. Sear brisket on both sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add garlic, brown sugar, and tomato paste. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar and soy sauce, scraping up browned bits.
  6. Return brisket to the pot. Add beef broth, paprika, cumin, pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Cover and transfer to oven. Cook for 3-4 hours until brisket is tender and easily shredded.
  8. Remove brisket and shred using two forks. Return to pot and stir into the sauce.
  9. Serve hot with your choice of sides or use in sandwiches or tacos.

Notes

  • For extra depth of flavor, marinate brisket overnight in a portion of the sauce.
  • Leftovers can be frozen and reheated for quick meals.
  • Try using the shredded brisket as a topping for baked potatoes or nachos.
