Description

Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Crumble is a comforting and festive side dish made with creamy mashed sweet potatoes topped with a crunchy, buttery pecan streusel—perfect for holiday meals and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 medium sweet potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pecan Crumble Topping:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, softened butter, and chopped pecans until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the pecan crumble evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling is set.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Can be made a day ahead and baked before serving.
  • For a lighter version, reduce the sugar or substitute with maple syrup or honey.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for extra warm spice.
