Description
Miniature smokie sausages coated in a sweet and tangy glaze—perfect as a crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 lb (approx. 32 oz) cocktail smokies
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional for tang)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, honey, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic powder, and pepper until smooth.
- Place smokies in a 9×13″ baking dish or ovenproof skillet.
- Pour glaze over smokies, stirring gently to coat all the sausages.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until glaze is thickened and sausages are heated through with a sticky finish.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Can be kept warm in a slow cooker on low for parties.
- Adjust sweetness or tang by altering honey and vinegar to taste.
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
