- 10 cups popped popcorn
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (3 oz) package strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the strawberry gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Continue boiling for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Quickly pour the strawberry mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat evenly.
- Spread the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
- Bake for 10 minutes, stir, and bake for another 10 minutes to set the coating.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Break into pieces before serving.
Notes
- You can add a few drops of red or pink food coloring for a more vibrant color.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Try using other flavored gelatin for different variations.
