This steak grilled cheese sandwich is packed with juicy slices of steak, melted cheese, and grilled to golden perfection. It’s the ultimate comfort food—perfect for using up leftover steak or making something special from scratch.
Ingredients

4 slices of bread (sourdough or artisan bread works great)

6 oz cooked steak, thinly sliced (ribeye, sirloin, or flank)

1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

1/2 cup sautéed onions (optional)

2 tbsp butter, softened

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

In a skillet, reheat or quickly sear the steak slices with a bit of butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Butter one side of each bread slice.

On the unbuttered side, layer cheese, steak slices, and sautéed onions (if using).

Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Grill the sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing slightly, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

Slice and serve hot.

Add a spread of horseradish mayo or Dijon mustard for extra flavor.
