Description

A light and fluffy whipped cream topping stabilized with gelatin, perfect for frosting, decorating, or making desserts ahead of time without losing texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 4 teaspoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Place a mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to chill.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine unflavored gelatin with water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Heat the gelatin mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In the chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream on medium speed until it begins to thicken.
  5. Add sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  6. Slowly drizzle the cooled gelatin mixture into the whipped cream while beating on low speed.
  7. Increase to medium-high and beat until stiff peaks form and the whipped cream holds its shape.

Notes

  • Use powdered sugar instead of granulated for a smoother texture.
  • Add almond or coconut extract for a flavor variation.
  • Fold in cocoa powder for a chocolate version.
  • Add cream cheese for a tangier, thicker whipped topping.
