Description
A light and fluffy whipped cream topping stabilized with gelatin, perfect for frosting, decorating, or making desserts ahead of time without losing texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
- 4 teaspoons cold water
Instructions
- Place a mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to chill.
- In a small saucepan, combine unflavored gelatin with water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Heat the gelatin mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In the chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream on medium speed until it begins to thicken.
- Add sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to beat until soft peaks form.
- Slowly drizzle the cooled gelatin mixture into the whipped cream while beating on low speed.
- Increase to medium-high and beat until stiff peaks form and the whipped cream holds its shape.
Notes
- Use powdered sugar instead of granulated for a smoother texture.
- Add almond or coconut extract for a flavor variation.
- Fold in cocoa powder for a chocolate version.
- Add cream cheese for a tangier, thicker whipped topping.
