Description

This smoked salmon pasta salad is a refreshing, creamy, and satisfying dish perfect for warm weather or easy meal prep. Made with tender pasta, cold-smoked salmon, crisp veggies, and a tangy dill dressing, it’s full of flavor and comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (rotini or bow tie works well)

  • 6 oz cold-smoked salmon, flaked

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup cucumber, diced

  • 1/4 cup capers, drained

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream (or yogurt), Dijon mustard, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper.

  • Add the cooled pasta to the dressing and toss to coat evenly.

  • Gently fold in the smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, and capers.

  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.

  • Garnish with extra dill or lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute smoked trout or cooked shrimp if you don’t have smoked salmon.

  • This salad can be made a day ahead—just give it a good stir before serving.

  • Add some baby spinach or arugula for extra greens.
