Description

This Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken is a flavorful and easy dish made with tender shredded chicken cooked in a rich BBQ sauce. Perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or served over rice.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove chicken and shred with two forks.
  6. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve warm on buns, over rice, or as desired.

Notes

  • Use your favorite brand of BBQ sauce for customized flavor.
  • For extra heat, add hot sauce or chili flakes to the sauce mix.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs as well.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
