- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 4–6 tostada shells
- Optional toppings: sour cream, hot sauce, shredded lettuce
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side or until opaque and cooked through. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mash avocados with lime juice, salt, and chopped cilantro to taste.
- Add red onion and diced tomato to the avocado mixture and mix well.
- Spread the avocado mixture over each tostada shell.
- Top with cooked shrimp and any additional desired toppings.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
Notes
- Use precooked shrimp to save time.
- Make the avocado mixture just before serving to prevent browning.
- Warm the tostada shells slightly in the oven for extra crunch.
