Description

A hearty and flavorful one-pan meal featuring savory sausage and tender cabbage, perfect for a quick and comforting dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped cabbage, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to combine.
  6. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Return the sausage to the skillet and mix well with the cabbage.
  8. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use kielbasa or andouille sausage for different flavor profiles.
  • Add a splash of apple cider vinegar for a tangy twist.
  • Can be served over rice or mashed potatoes for a heartier meal.
