- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (for gravy)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape into 4 oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for about 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and mushrooms. Sauté for 5 minutes until tender.
- Sprinkle in flour and stir well to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer and return patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes, or until patties are cooked through and gravy is thickened.

Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce grease in the skillet.
- Add a splash of red wine to the gravy for deeper flavor.
- Great make-ahead meal—gravy improves overnight!
