Description
Classic Rice Krispie Treats are chewy, buttery, and filled with gooey marshmallow goodness. They’re an easy no-bake dessert perfect for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows (about 4 cups)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch pan with butter or nonstick spray and set aside.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
- Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract if using.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal and quickly stir to coat evenly.
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
- Let cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Use fresh marshmallows for best texture and flavor.
- Do not overheat marshmallows or the treats may turn hard.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
