Description
A refreshing and tangy summer drink made from stewed rhubarb, citrus juices, and lemon-lime soda, perfect for serving at gatherings or as a cool treat on hot days.

- 8 cups chopped rhubarb
- 8 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 (6 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
- 1 (6 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 2 cups vodka (optional)
- 2 liters lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7-Up), for serving
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine chopped rhubarb and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until rhubarb is soft, about 15-20 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pot, discarding the solids.
- While the liquid is still warm, stir in the sugar until dissolved.
- Add the orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, and vodka (if using). Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a large freezer-safe container and freeze overnight or until solid.
- To serve, scoop desired amount of frozen slush into a glass and top with lemon-lime soda. Stir gently and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust sugar based on your desired sweetness level.
- Vodka can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version.
- Store slush in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- Garnish with mint or citrus slices for extra flair.
