Description

Reindeer Food, also known as Christmas Puppy Chow, is a festive no-bake snack mix made with crunchy cereal coated in chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Perfect for holiday parties and gifting!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Rice Chex or Corn Chex cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles
  • 1 cup red and green M&Ms (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Place the cereal in a large bowl. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently fold until evenly coated.
  4. Add the confectioners’ sugar to a large zip-top bag. Add the coated cereal, seal the bag, and shake until all pieces are well coated.
  5. Spread the Reindeer Food onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with holiday sprinkles and M&Ms if using.
  6. Let it set for about 30 minutes before storing or serving.

Notes

  • Use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a different twist.
  • Add crushed peppermint candies for a holiday mint flavor.
  • Use almond or sunflower butter for a nut-free version.
  • Mix in pretzels, mini marshmallows, or mini peanut butter cups for extra fun.
