Description

A nostalgic gelatin dessert that combines the fruity sweetness of cherry jello with the warm spice of Red Hots cinnamon candies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package cherry jello (gelatin mix)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Red Hots cinnamon candies
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup applesauce

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the Red Hots candies and stir until completely dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the cherry jello mix until fully dissolved.
  4. Let the mixture cool slightly, then stir in the drained crushed pineapple and applesauce.
  5. Pour the mixture into a mold or serving dish and refrigerate until set, about 4 hours or overnight.
  6. Once fully set, serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use strawberry or raspberry jello instead of cherry for a different fruity flavor.
  • Add chopped nuts for extra texture.
  • Top with whipped cream or a dollop of sour cream before serving.
  • Mold into festive shapes for themed parties or holidays.
