Description

A quick, flavorful, and spicy noodle dish made with chewy udon noodles tossed in a homemade chili oil sauce—perfect for a fast weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packs frozen or fresh udon noodles
  • 2 tablespoons chili oil (with sediment)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 scallion, finely chopped (optional garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions. If using frozen, boil for 1-2 minutes until loosened. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine chili oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and sugar. Mix well to form the sauce.
  3. Add the hot drained noodles to the sauce and toss thoroughly until evenly coated.
  4. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped scallions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust chili oil quantity to your spice preference.
  • You can add cooked protein like shrimp, chicken, or tofu for a fuller meal.
  • Try adding a soft-boiled egg on top for extra richness.
