Description

A creamy, festive twist on classic eggnog with pumpkin puree and warm spices, perfect for fall and holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together eggs, sugar, and salt until well blended.
  2. Gradually stir in the milk and continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and reaches 160°F (71°C).
  3. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smooth texture.
  4. Whisk in heavy cream, pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until well chilled.
  6. Before serving, whisk or blend the eggnog to re-incorporate any settled spices.
  7. Serve chilled, garnished with ground nutmeg and cinnamon. Add bourbon or rum if desired.
