Description

A hearty and comforting Pizza Pasta Casserole loaded with cheesy goodness, savory meats, and classic pizza flavors, perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, half the pepperoni, and half the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and remaining pepperoni slices.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with Italian sausage for extra flavor.
  • Add other pizza toppings like mushrooms or olives if desired.
  • Make it ahead and refrigerate before baking for an easy meal prep option.
