Description

This Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread is the ultimate comfort food mashup. Crispy garlic bread is piled high with juicy steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey melted cheese. It’s perfect for game day, parties, or an easy weeknight dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 large French bread loaf, halved lengthwise

  • 1 lb ribeye steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sauté the sliced onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, cook the thinly sliced steak until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Stir the cooked peppers and onions back in with the steak and mix well. Remove from heat.

  5. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

  6. Place bread halves on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for 5 minutes to crisp up slightly.

  7. Remove from oven and top each bread half with the steak and pepper mixture. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese.

  8. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Garnish with chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Ribeye is traditional, but sirloin or flank steak also work well.

  • Want a little kick? Add a few red pepper flakes to the steak mix.

  • For extra cheesy flavor, mix in some cheddar or pepper jack.

  • Leftovers reheat well in a toaster oven or air fryer.
