Description

These perfect chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with gooey chocolate chips. A classic treat that’s easy to make and loved by all ages.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes for a thicker cookie.
  • You can substitute chocolate chips with chunks or a mix of dark and milk chocolate.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
