Description

Cheerio Bars:

  • 4 cups plain Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Topping (optional):

  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the Ingredients: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine peanut butter, honey, and salt. Stir until smooth and melted, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
  3. Coat Cheerios: Add Cheerios to the saucepan, stir until fully coated. Press mixture into the prepared pan.
  4. Add Topping: If using, sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and press gently.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let bars cool at room temperature for 1 hour or refrigerate for 30 minutes until firm. Cut into squares and enjoy!
