Cheerio Bars:
- 4 cups plain Cheerios cereal
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Topping (optional):
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Melt the Ingredients: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine peanut butter, honey, and salt. Stir until smooth and melted, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
- Coat Cheerios: Add Cheerios to the saucepan, stir until fully coated. Press mixture into the prepared pan.
- Add Topping: If using, sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and press gently.
- Cool and Serve: Let bars cool at room temperature for 1 hour or refrigerate for 30 minutes until firm. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
- Natural peanut butter can be used, but ensure it’s well stirred.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the fridge for longer freshness.
