Description

These classic peanut butter cookies from Paula Deen are soft, chewy, and packed with rich peanut butter flavor. They’re easy to make with just a few pantry staples and perfect for any cookie lover.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar (divided)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.

  • Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch) and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  • Use a fork to press a crisscross pattern onto each cookie, flattening them slightly.

  • Sprinkle the tops with the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can use crunchy peanut butter for added texture.

  • These cookies are naturally gluten-free since they don’t contain flour.

  • For an extra treat, dip half the cookie in melted chocolate once cooled.
