- 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
- 1/2 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil and sauté the garlic and onions until the onions are soft and slightly caramelized.
- Push the onions to one side and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble them until just set.
- Add the cooked rice to the pan and stir-fry to combine with the eggs and onions.
- Return the beef to the pan and pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Stir-fry everything for another 2-3 minutes until heated through and well combined.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- Use cold, day-old rice for best texture.
- Marinate beef in a little soy sauce and cornstarch for extra tenderness.
- You can add vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers for variation.
