Description

This One Pot Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta is a flavorful, spicy, and comforting dish made with smoked sausage, creamy Cajun-spiced sauce, and tender pasta, all cooked in a single pot for an easy 30-minute meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup chopped spinach (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the uncooked pasta, chicken broth, and diced tomatoes. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until pasta is cooked.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and spinach (if using). Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
