Description
Soft, buttery, and garlicky breadsticks just like the ones served at Olive Garden. Perfect as a side for soups, salads, or Italian dishes.

- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add softened butter, salt, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a breadstick shape.
- Place the breadsticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake the breadsticks for 12–14 minutes or until golden brown.
- Immediately brush the hot breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can double the garlic powder for a stronger flavor.
- These are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
