Description

A no-bake treat that blends crunchy cornflakes with a rich peanut butter-miso coating and a smooth chocolate topping, delivering sweet, salty, and umami flavors in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cornflakes
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine peanut butter, miso paste, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Remove from heat and gently fold in the cornflakes until evenly coated.
  4. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared dish in an even layer.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate with coconut oil until smooth.
  6. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cornflake base and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully set.
  9. Lift out of the pan using parchment and cut into bars.
