Description

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a generous pinch of salt.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  5. Add butter, warm milk or cream, and any optional ingredients like garlic or cream cheese.
  6. Mash using a potato masher or hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
