Description

Marry Me Chicken is a creamy, flavorful chicken dish cooked in a rich sun-dried tomato and parmesan sauce, perfect for impressing guests or a romantic dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (in oil, drained)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and stir to deglaze the pan.
  5. Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, thyme, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  6. Let the sauce cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat with the sauce. Simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken is heated through.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice for a complete meal.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated gently on the stovetop.
