Description

Maple Ginger Beef is a sweet and savory stir-fry dish featuring tender beef strips glazed in a flavorful maple syrup and ginger sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toss the sliced beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the beef in batches and cook until browned and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and water. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  6. Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Flank steak or sirloin works best for this dish.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated for meal prep.
