Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese, perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef, cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  4. In a large pot, boil diced potatoes for about 10 minutes, or until just tender. Drain.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, potatoes, sour cream, milk, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix gently.
  6. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • You can add cooked bacon for extra flavor.
  • Try using Monterey Jack or a cheese blend for variation.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
