- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 8 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz uncooked pasta (penne or rotini)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Stir marinara sauce into the cooked beef and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or sausage.
- Use store-bought marinara or homemade sauce based on preference.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
- Double the recipe for a crowd or to freeze for later.
