Description

These Killer Maple Mustard Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches are the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory. Flaky croissants are stuffed with melty cheese, crispy bacon or sausage, fluffy eggs, and a bold maple mustard sauce that takes things to the next level. Great for weekend brunches or meal prep for busy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, sliced in half

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese

  • 4 slices cooked bacon or sausage patties

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Maple Mustard Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard (optional for texture)

  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Maple Mustard Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard (if using), maple syrup, mayonnaise, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.

  2. Scramble the Eggs:
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Crack the eggs into a bowl, season with salt and pepper, and whisk. Pour into the pan and scramble gently until just cooked through. Remove from heat.

  3. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spread the maple mustard sauce on the inside of each croissant half. Layer with cheese, scrambled eggs, and a slice of bacon or sausage.

  4. Warm It Up (Optional):
For melty cheese and toasty croissants, place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 5–7 minutes, or until warm and the cheese is melted.

  5. Serve immediately, or wrap in foil to keep warm if you’re on the go!

Notes

  • These sandwiches can be made ahead and refrigerated. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven for best results.

  • Swap in turkey bacon, plant-based sausage, or a fried egg if preferred.

  • Add a handful of arugula or a tomato slice for a fresh touch.
