Ingredients
-
1 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
5 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
-
2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
-
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
-
Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
-
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of the butter.
-
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
-
Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
-
Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the lemon juice. Cook for another minute to let the sauce come together.
-
Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
-
Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
-
Don’t overcook the shrimp—they cook fast and become rubbery if left too long.
-
Add a splash of white wine for extra flavor.
-
Great served over linguine or with garlic bread.
