Description

Instant Pot Dulce de Leche is a rich, creamy caramel sauce made from sweetened condensed milk. It’s quick, easy, and perfect as a topping or filling for your favorite desserts.


Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • Water (enough to cover jar or can in Instant Pot)

Instructions

  1. Spoon the sweetened condensed milk into a 6-8 oz glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, or use the unopened can with the label removed.
  2. If using a jar, seal the lid. If using the can, do not open it.
  3. Place the jar or can on the trivet in the Instant Pot. Add enough water to fully submerge the jar or can by at least 1 inch.
  4. Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to ‘Pressure Cook’ or ‘Manual’ on high pressure for 35 minutes for a light caramel or up to 45 minutes for a darker, thicker result.
  5. Allow natural pressure release for 15 minutes, then carefully remove the jar or can and let it cool completely before opening.
  6. Stir well before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use caution when opening the can or jar as contents may still be hot.
  • For a smoother consistency, whisk the cooled dulce de leche before serving.
  • Delicious over ice cream, toast, pancakes, or as a cake filling.
