Description
Instant Pot Dulce de Leche is a rich, creamy caramel sauce made from sweetened condensed milk. It’s quick, easy, and perfect as a topping or filling for your favorite desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- Water (enough to cover jar or can in Instant Pot)
Instructions
- Spoon the sweetened condensed milk into a 6-8 oz glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, or use the unopened can with the label removed.
- If using a jar, seal the lid. If using the can, do not open it.
- Place the jar or can on the trivet in the Instant Pot. Add enough water to fully submerge the jar or can by at least 1 inch.
- Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to ‘Pressure Cook’ or ‘Manual’ on high pressure for 35 minutes for a light caramel or up to 45 minutes for a darker, thicker result.
- Allow natural pressure release for 15 minutes, then carefully remove the jar or can and let it cool completely before opening.
- Stir well before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Use caution when opening the can or jar as contents may still be hot.
- For a smoother consistency, whisk the cooled dulce de leche before serving.
- Delicious over ice cream, toast, pancakes, or as a cake filling.
