Description

Crispy, golden homemade tortilla chips made with just three ingredients. Perfect for dipping, snacking, or customizing with your favorite flavors.

Ingredients

  • Corn tortillas
  • Vegetable oil (or any neutral oil for frying)
  • Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Cut corn tortillas into triangles using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Working in batches, fry the tortilla triangles for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy.
  4. Use a slotted spoon to transfer chips to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Immediately sprinkle with kosher salt while chips are still hot.
  6. Let them cool completely before serving to achieve maximum crispiness.

Notes

  • Sprinkle with chili powder, smoked paprika, or lime zest for added flavor.
  • Bake instead of fry by brushing tortilla wedges with oil, seasoning, and baking at 375°F (190°C) for 10–15 minutes.
  • Use flavored tortillas like spinach or tomato for a colorful twist.
  • Add cinnamon sugar instead of salt for a sweet chip option.
