This Homemade Strawberry Sauce is a sweet and tangy topping made with fresh or frozen strawberries, perfect for pancakes, cheesecake, ice cream, and more.

- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until strawberries release juices and soften, about 8–10 minutes.
- If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into the strawberry mixture.
- Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes, until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Serve warm or chilled over your favorite desserts or breakfast dishes.
Notes
- For a smooth sauce, blend after cooking and strain to remove seeds.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Adjust sugar to taste depending on strawberry sweetness.
