- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (11 oz) bag caramel bits or 40 unwrapped soft caramels
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Instructions
- In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter.
- Add caramel bits and milk, stirring constantly until completely melted and smooth.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Remove from heat and gently fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Scoop about 1/4 cup of the mixture and form into flattened rounds using your hands or a spoon.
- Place the rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Let them cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for faster setting.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
Notes
- Use wax paper or parchment to prevent sticking when shaping the treats.
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
