Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups day-old bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (French, sourdough, or sandwich bread)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss bread cubes with olive oil (or melted butter), garlic powder, herbs, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until croutons are golden brown and crisp.
