- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add garlic and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and oregano. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half the noodles, spread half the sour cream mixture, then half the meat sauce. Repeat layers.
- Top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

- You can prepare this dish ahead of time and refrigerate before baking.
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
