Description

Ham and Cheese Quiche is a savory, custard-filled pastry made with diced ham, shredded cheese, and a flaky pie crust, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner.

  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Prick the bottom with a fork and prebake for 8–10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  3. Sprinkle ham and shredded cheese evenly over the bottom of the crust.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese in the crust.
  6. Sprinkle with chives or green onions if using.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is just set and lightly golden on top.
  8. Let quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
