Description

A savory, classic ham and cheese quiche with a flaky crust and creamy filling, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges if desired.
  3. Sprinkle the diced ham, shredded cheeses, and chopped green onions evenly over the crust.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the filling in the crust.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  7. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute Swiss cheese with Gruyère for a richer flavor.
  • To make it ahead, prepare and refrigerate overnight before baking.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
