Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk in eggs one at a time until smooth.
- Sift cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder together, then fold into wet ingredients until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Divide into two bowls. Tint one with orange food coloring, the other with black.
- Pour brownie batter into prepared pan and smooth top.
- Drop spoonfuls of colored cream cheese over the batter. Swirl gently with a skewer or knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and slicing.
