Description

Rich and fudgy brownies with a festive orange and black cream cheese swirl, perfect for Halloween parties or autumn treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Orange gel food coloring
  • Black gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Sift cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder together, then fold into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Divide into two bowls. Tint one with orange food coloring, the other with black.
  6. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan and smooth top.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of colored cream cheese over the batter. Swirl gently with a skewer or knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and slicing.
