Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus extra for brushing
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices pepperoni (for cheekbones and forehead)
- 12 black olives, halved (for eyes)
- 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced (for mouth accents)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each into a skull-like oval, flatten slightly.
- Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on each. Sprinkle with mozzarella, shaping into skull teeth at bottom edge.
- Arrange two olive halves as eyes. Place pepperoni slices at temples and forehead for skull decoration.
- Add thin red pepper strips around mouth area for accent. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
- Brush edges with olive oil. Bake 12–15 minutes until crust golden and cheese bubbly.
