Description

Spooky Halloween-themed mini pizza skulls with mozzarella “teeth,” olive “eyes,” and pepperoni decorations—perfect for parties or festive fun.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus extra for brushing
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24 slices pepperoni (for cheekbones and forehead)
  • 12 black olives, halved (for eyes)
  • 1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced (for mouth accents)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each into a skull-like oval, flatten slightly.
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on each. Sprinkle with mozzarella, shaping into skull teeth at bottom edge.
  7. Arrange two olive halves as eyes. Place pepperoni slices at temples and forehead for skull decoration.
  8. Add thin red pepper strips around mouth area for accent. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
  9. Brush edges with olive oil. Bake 12–15 minutes until crust golden and cheese bubbly.
  10. Cool 2 minutes before serving warm Halloween pizza skulls.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free flour if desired.
  • Add cooked sausage or pepperoni bits for extra flavor.
  • Prepare dough ahead and refrigerate—bring to room temperature before shaping.
  • Customize decorations: use bell pepper, pineapple, or veggies for creative skull designs.
  • Serve with ranch or ranch‑buffalo dip for dipping.
