Description

A fresh and creamy Mexican dip made with ripe avocados, lime juice, and vibrant ingredients, perfect for chips, tacos, or as a topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium tomato (seeded and diced)
  • 2 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 small jalapeño (optional, finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (optional, minced)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency.
  3. Add lime juice immediately to prevent browning and enhance flavor.
  4. Stir in red onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), garlic (if using), salt, and pepper.
  5. Mix until well combined, taste, and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping.

Notes

  • Add diced mango or pineapple for a fruity twist.
  • Use roasted garlic or shallots for a deeper flavor.
  • Include a spoonful of Greek yogurt for a creamier texture.
  • Add crumbled bacon or cotija cheese for a savory boost.
  • Make it spicy with serrano peppers or hot sauce.
